Assemble Pico Uno SSD 8040

These instructions show how to assemble a complete Pico Uno SSD 8040 Cube.

Step 1 – Base Panel

Remove the paper backing from the acrylic and screw the 8040 board to the base panel using the 3/8" screws, 1/4" screws, washers, and 1/2" F/F aluminum standoffs from packet A.

Step 2 – Left and Back Panels

Remove the paper backing from left and back panels and prepare as shown.

Attach the fans using the #6 3/4" screws, nylon washers and nuts from packet F.

Mount the power supply to the back panel with the power supply screws and nylon washers from packet F.

Mount the A/C power connector using the 1/2" screws, nylon washers, and nuts from packet F.

Step 3 – Wiring

Attach the A/C power input wires to the right most power supply terminals. They are from right to left [L power] [N neutral] [G ground].

Attach the leads for the 2 PDUs to the left most terminals. The wire for the 8040 board has a right-angle barrel connector on one end. The wire for the SSD PDU has bare ends. They are from left to right [+ positive] [- ground].

Step 4 – Attach Left Side and Back Panels

Plug the right-angle barrel connector to the side of the 8040 board.

Attach the left side and back panels to the base panel as shown. Use a screw/washer/nut combo from packet E.

Step 5 – Front Panel and Reset Switch

Remove the paper backing from the front panel. Remove the retaining nut and washer from the back of the reset switch. Push the switch the front panel as shown and tighten using the retaining nut only.

Attach the front panel to the base panel as shown. Use a screw/washer/nut combo from packet E.

Plug the reset switch end into the 2-pin connector on the motherboard as shown.

Step 6 –Right Side Panel

Remove the paper backing from the right side panel.

Attach the right side panel to the base panel as shown. Use a screw/washer/nut combo from packet E.

Step 7 – Top Panel and SSD

Remove the paper backing from the top panel.

Attach the PDU as shown using the screws, nuts, washers, and nylon spaces from packet H.

Attach the SSD as shown using the screws, nuts, washers, and nylon spaces from packet H.

Step 8 – PDU Wiring and SSD Cabling

Attach the leads from the power supply to the left and center terminals [+ positive in] [- ground] of the PDU. Attach the leads from the SSD cable to the center and right [- ground][+ positive out] PDU terminals. You'll need to cut the connector end and strip the power wires.

Plug the SSD cable onto on of the SSD ports on the 8040 board.

Attach the top panel to the case as shown. Use 4 screw/washer/nut combos from packet E.

Step 9 - Completed Cube

Put formated micro SD cards in each boards, turn on, connect to WAN network and enjoy!
