Assemble Pico 3R Raspberry Pi 3

These instructions show how to assemble a complete Pico 3R Raspberry PI cluster.

The instructions for assembling the Pi board stack are here. This needs to be completed before assembling the rest of the Cube.

Please contact support@picocluster.com if you encounter any difficulties.

Step 1 – Base Panel

Remove the paper backing from the acrylic and screw the stack to the base panel using the 3/8" screws and washers from packet 1. The board stack goes on the left side of the base panel with the power cables facing to the right.

Step 2 – Left and RIght Side Panels

Remove the paper backing from both side panels.

Attach the left and right side panels to the base panel as shown. Use a screw/washer/nut combo from packet E for each.

Step 3 – Front Panel

Remove the paper backing from the front panel. Attach the HDMI cable to the front panel using the 3/8" screws and nylon washers.

The barrel power cable needs to be attached with super glue. Just add a couple of small drops to the inside of the hole, then push the power cable into the hole. Please wait a few minutes for the glue to dry before proceeding. If any of the glue gets on the acrylic panel, it will damage it.

Step 4 – Cabling

Once the glue is dry, thread the HDMI Cable through the back and thread the power cable and switch power cable through the cable management hole and under the board power cables by the PDU.

Attach the front panel to the base and side panels as shown. Use a screw/washer/nut combo from packet for each.

Attach the HDMI cable to the HDMI port on the top board, then tuck the excess under the bottom board.

Step 5 – PDU Wiring

The terminals from left to right are [+ in] [- ground] [+ out]. Attach the power input to the left(red) and center(black) terminals. Make sure the terminals are screwed down tight.

Step 6 – Back Panel

Remove the paper backing from the acrylic and attach the back panel to the base panel as shown. Use a screw/washer/nut combo from packet E.

Step 7 – Top Panel

Remove the paper backing from the acrylic and attach the top panel to the base panel as shown. Use a screw/washer/nut combo from packet E.

Step 8 – Completed Cube

Put formated micro SD cards in each boards, turn on, connect the boards to an external switch and to the WAN network and enjoy!
