We are currently taking pre-orders to RPI5 clusters. Availability has been pushed back to January some time. As soon as we have more details we will share them. depending on RPI5 availability.
Initial shipments will only be for the standard version with the RPI4 PDU. At least one upgrade option will be provided for early adopters. Then higher power PDU and clusters will likely become available by February.
The RPI5 is the latest Raspberry board announced in October 2023. This new RPI5 is up to 2-3 times faster compute that the RPI4 with double the memory bandwidth, much faster microSD card access and a new OS called Bookworm.
The RPI5 can use more power than the RPI4 in order to achieve it's greater speed. Even at the same power level, the RPI5 is faster because of it's new CPU.
We are planning on shipping 2 versions of the RPI5 clusters. One will ship in our current RPI4 configuration using our current PDU which provides about 2A or 10W per RPI5.
The second will ship with an upgraded PDU that will be able to provide from 3-4A or 15-20W per board. We will likely include a larger power supply and cooling changes to support the higher power level. The second configuration will be priced higher to account for the new components.

The memory cards are imaged with the standard PicoCluster Cluster Image Set. The Image set can be upgrade with an Application Image Set like Hadoop, or additional Application Image Sets can be purchase separately.
